Have you defragged your hard drive lately, and specifically your gw.dat file? www.auslogic.com offers a free version that will do that for you (way faster than the windows defrag application). It sounds as if the data needed to load those areas is scattered all over your HDD and that could be the very likely culprit in this situation.... defrag and see if that does it for you.
